Temporary Information Technology Technician

The Digital Solutions Department is seeking a Temporary Information Technology Technician. This position responds and coordinates a variety of Help Desk services and requests by identifying, troubleshooting, or dispatching operational issues and problems experienced by District users. This position also provides direct advice and assistance to users and creates work orders.
 
Essential Functions:
(The essential functions listed below are not intended to reflect all duties that may be assigned to this classification. The District may augment duties and/or essential functions at its discretion. Additionally, some incumbents may not perform all Essential Functions.)

  1. Serve as the first-level resource to all users of desktop applications by responding to requests for Help Desk assistance. Help identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot operational, desktop, and mobile device issues. Visit employee workstations as necessary.
  2. Prioritize Help Desk work requests; create and dispatch work orders to the appropriate Digital Solutions team member. 
  3. Install and setup desktop devices and associated peripherals. Monitor and track assets and inform users when replacement is needed. 
  4. Research current information on computer issues and technology.
  5. Educate users through the troubleshooting process, which includes, classroom training, written materials, and personal interactions.
 
Experience and Training Guidelines:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledges, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the KSAs would be:

2+ years of experience as a computer technician, computer operator, or related work.

College level coursework in computer office applications, information systems, office systems, operating systems, or a related field.
 
Certification and Licensure:

Upon selection, candidate must possess and maintain a valid State issued driver's license.
