Public Information Specialist II

HOURS: FULL TIME; Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with some flexibility to cover evening and weekend events.

This position is responsible for enhancing communication between the City and members of the public through social media; performs technical duties for the efficient and effective operation and maintenance of the City website including training employees responsible for their agencies social media platforms, providing assistance to City employees and member of the public seeking access to web information; and drafts news releases, advisories, and other written communications.

The person in this position works within City Communications (a division of the Mayor's Office). The position is supervised by the City Communications Manager.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with major coursework in broadcasting, journalism, communications, marketing, business or public administration emphasizing public relations and public information work, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
