Technology Support Technician
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
This position is responsible for technical work providing support services to departmental personnel who use computer hardware, software and networks in the performance of their duties.
Responsibilities include providing on-site maintenance and trouble-shooting to departmental personnel for personal computer hardware, software, network connections, and other equipment. Work also may include the installation and use of new hardware and software.
Nature of Work/Examples of Work Performed: Maintain department’s computer programs to insure maximum utilization and effectiveness.
Evaluates the computer hardware and software needs of the department.
Coordinates the implementation and design of custom computer systems and software.
Provides on-going support for the department’s Electronic Security System.
Provides training and technical support to minimize errors and insure optimal computer system utilization.
Desirable Knowledge, Abilities & Skills/Desirable Training & Experience: Knowledge of software installation and maintenance.
Knowledge of department functions, procedures, policies, and organization
as they relate to computer support services.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently.

Minimum Qualifications/Necessary Special Requirements: Associate degree with coursework in computer science, business administration, or related field, plus 4 years of experience managing a complex computer system; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
