Budget Analyst Senior

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides leadership for planning and development of budgeting processes and enhancements of company budgeting systems.
  • Plans and coordinates projects and/or provides work direction to budgeting staff. 
  • Reviews, analyzes and monitors budgets to assure accurate regulatory reporting and valid cost allocations.
  • Investigates new technology and recommends enhancements to company budgeting systems.
  • Develops and maintains report formats, procedures, and revisions of existing systems. 
  • Develops and trains management and employees on pertinent policies and procedures.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent PLUS eight years or more related experience
OR
  • Master’s degree in accounting or equivalent PLUS seven years or more related experience
  • If equivalent, must have taken related accounting courses

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Requires strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain productive working relationships.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is an essential requirement of this position.
  • This position is located at the at the Duluth, MN Herbert Service Center office. This position may be considered for a hybrid work arrangement based on ALLETE’s needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the employees position will be a blend where work is performed on both in person and at an offsite location such as an employees at home office.
  • This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
