Transit Project Coordinator

About the Work Unit
The Division of Transit and Rail (DTR) is responsible for the planning, development, finance, operation, and integration of transit and rail services into the statewide transportation system.

Within the Division of Transit and Rail, this position is part of the Project Coordination Unit, which is responsible for managing, implementing, and monitoring all transit funding projects that flow through the Division of Transit and Rail, to include Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and State funded programs. The Project Coordination Team is responsible to ensure that the funding is appropriately used and that the sub awardees have the tools they need to be successful.

About the Position
As the Transit Project Coordinator, you will manage, monitor, and implement transit projects that are a direct result of the division’s planning process. This includes ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements, offering technical assistance, processing requests for payment, providing project level guidance, and reporting out on project progress. The Transit Project Coordinator must attend, participate in and report out on internal CDOT meetings as well as external ones with the Local Coordinating Council (LCC) and Regional Coordinating Council (RCC). Other job duties as assigned.

Work Environment: 
  • Your schedule will primarily be 8:00 am – 5:00 pm work hours, Monday-Friday, but we are flexible to meet your work/life balance needs while ensuring CDOT business needs are met.
  • You will likely work a hybrid schedule with a combination of in-office and remote work.
  • Travel required throughout the State, including site visits to transit agency locations.
  • Required to operate CDOT vehicles.
