Civil Engineering Intern

SEH is currently searching for a talented Civil Engineering Intern to join our team!
Your options as a civil engineer are endless at SEH. You’ll engineer better communities -- complete streets, safer sidewalks, more sustainable utilities, and trails and parks. Others specialize in large-scale projects, like flood control facilities, dams, landfills, harbors/marinas, structural retaining walls and larger geotechnical projects. Regardless of the project, you’ll have your hands in the mix through all phases of a project: planning, pre-design, design, contract documentation, bidding and construction. As people walk, drive, bike or commute through a community or across a landscape, your expertise is positively impacting their daily lives.

What you will be doing:
  • Support project managers, engineers and field staff by helping with design calculations and on-site street and utility construction visits 
  • Independently manage your work assignments and project team responsibilities and report to your supervisor on the status of your workload
  • Participate in specified training 
Required Qualifications:
  • Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering 
  • Must have reliable transportation for travel for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections, etc.
  •  Ability to walk and climb over rough terrain and carry up to 40 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with GIS and AutoCAD through internships or coursework 
  • Previous experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
